I developed three studies on the basis of the idea around the threshold. Threshold, by definition is the first and major step forward or point of entry to anything. From the psychological perspective it is the value as from which the effects of a physical agent begin to be perceptible. It is the minimum sign that has to be present to be registered by a system. In neither study does the landscape represent real physical space, but rather the liquid surface that reflects it. Although it is a complex and apparently three-dimensional image, it is -in spite of the artifice- merely a reflection. Each photographic register its one single shot; there is no subsequent editing. The Threshold Studies focus on reality and its double. They search for an ephemeral chance where the simulacrum becomes evident. There intent is to provoke a breakage that creates an aperture, as sort of vanishing point.

Los tres estudios que conforman este proyecto reflexionan en torno a la idea de umbral concebido como límite y posibilidad. Umbral, por definición, es el paso primero y principal o entrada de cualquier cosa. Desde la psicología es el valor a partir del cual empiezan a ser perceptibles los efectos de un agente físico, es decir, la cantidad mínima de señal que ha de estar presente para ser registrada por un sistema. El paisaje no representa un espacio físico sino la superficie líquida que lo refleja.  Se trata de una imagen compleja, que a pesar al artificio no es mas que un mero reflejo. Pese a la aparente complejidad, cada imagen es el resultado de una sola toma, no hay montaje ni alteración posterior.
Los Estudios sobre el Umbral reflexionan acerca de lo real y su doble, buscan evidenciar el simulacro y desde ahí provocar una ruptura que genere la apertura de puntos de fuga.
